Chatham Village Vacation Properties, LLC

Chatham Village Vacation Properties, LLC is a small, family owned vacation rental business founded by Edward & Kathleen Skopas. They have vacationed in Chatham for over 30 years and have always dreamed of owning a property in this quaint and historic town. Ed completed a 35 year corporate career working in the information technology field with one of the largest global healthcare companies headquartered in the US, while Kathy completed a 34 year career as a teacher and coordinator of special education for a regional school system in the state of Connecticut.

In addition to managing their business, Ed serves on the Board of Directors for two non-profits. He is a member of the Northeast Regional Board of Directors for the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation which seeks to improve children’s lives and help families gain access to the care they need through medical grants. As a national foundation, UHCCF has awarded over 23,000 grants and over $50M to children and families in need of financial assistance while facing difficult healthcare and financial challenges for children 17 and under. In addition, Ed serves on the Board of Directors for AHM Family and Youth Services which serves as a regional non-profit in the State of Connecticut providing a multitude of services within local communities to help divert teens from juvenile court, providing community drug and alcohol prevention activities, mental health counseling and social work services, youth worker programs for senior citizens, as well as many other positive youth and family activities which promote the health and well-being of children and their families.

Ed and his wife, Kathy, split their time between their home in Connecticut and their home in Chatham with their two college aged sons. As a family, they are actively engaged in leading and volunteering in several community service imperatives focused on providing and coordinating the delivery of food items to regional homeless shelters and local food pantries in addition to youth mentoring and tutoring services.  They are passionate about community service and engagement in the communities in which they live and do business.  They encourage their guests to learn more about several non-profits within Chatham and on Cape Cod that are focused on preserving and conserving the precious natural resources of this beautiful region as well as helping to educate tourists in the remarkable history of this community.  Lastly, their hospitality business seeks to help sustain the economic viability of local fisherman, contractors, businesses and year-round residents that heavily depend upon a tourism driven economy within this region.

In 2012 they purchased their first property and over the ensuing years have acquired several other historic homes within walking distance of each other.  In late 2016, after Ed's retirement from corporate life, they decided to pursue a new chapter in their lives and focus on building and growing their hospitality business.  They have worked tirelessly to restore and renovate these properties while retaining all of their vintage charm and historic significance. They are actively engaged in the ongoing marketing and management of their properties and have made many new friends across the globe by hosting them and their families in one of their warm and inviting vacation rental homes and cottages.
